I am interested in microbial ecology in aquatic systems in general, with particular emphasis on biotic interactions, structure and function of planktonic communities in all compartments of the trophic network (viruses, bacteria, phytoplankton, zooplankton, …) and in all the type of aquatic environments (tropical and temperate lakes, lowland and high mountain, rivers, oceans, ...).
